Burgess Pet Care has appointed three key staff members to support the company’s growth throughout the UK and overseas.

Andrew Cressey joins the team as export manager. Having worked in international sales for more than 20 years, Andrew is already a well-established export manager and looks forward to expanding Burgess’s international sales footprint.

He said: “Burgess Pet Care is a fantastic Yorkshire business, already well established in the UK and with excellent potential to develop their export profile. Their brand and product portfolio really resonated with me and their genuine concern for animal welfare means there’s an important, underlining message at the very heart of everything we do as a team.

“My aim over the next year is to significantly raise the profile and portfolio of the Burgess brand globally and with emphasis on Western Europe. I’m also aiming to double the export turnover from current levels within one year – so we’re aiming high!”

In addition, Trish Parker joins the team as technical manager and Becky Scholey as quality co-ordinator. Since their appointments, Trish and Becky have played key roles in securing a grade A for Burgess in an audit by the British Retail Consortium. Trish is currently focused on the use of advancements in new technology to propel business growth.

She said: “We recently improved our raw material testing facilities to further increase the quality of our products.”

“The flexibility we now have for testing makes a huge difference and I’m really excited about looking into how we can strengthen our current systems further and working closely with the team on these improvement opportunities.”

Becky was previously a senior scientist in the Blood Sciences Haematology and Serology Department at a large veterinary diagnostics laboratory and brings with her a wealth of animal experience.

“Working with Burgess Pet Care has given me an opportunity to combine my interest in science with my love for animal welfare,” she said. “As a pet owner myself, I’m proud to be working towards the improved health and happiness of animals, and I look forward to making some valuable contributions within the quality team.”
