Sea Life Great Yarmouth has opened a new exhibition, Claws vs Jaws, featuring ‘several of the world’s most amazing crustaceans and Creatures of the Deep’.
“Meet the claws division of the marine world and compare them with the powerful jaws from the deep! Claws vs Jaws’ captures all the best things about Sea Life Great Yarmouth – fun, education, interactive elements and amazing creatures,” said marketing coordinator Maxine Culleton.
“It is exciting to launch a new and exclusive feature, giving families another great reason to dive in and experience the ocean and its creatures at Sea Life Great Yarmouth.”
Among the exhibits are a Japanese spider crab that when fully grown has the leg span to step over a mini cooper car and the peacock mantis shrimp, one of the most brightly coloured animals in the world.
Maxine added: “This fascinating creature is a joy to behold, but don’t let its pretty exterior fool you – it is also one of the sea’s most feared predators! This little shrimp can move its arms with such force that the water around it boils – if humans had the same power in our arms, we could throw a cricket ball into space!”
