- Pet Industry Federation
The Pet Industry Federation is the new name for the Pet Care Trade Association. As a Federation it now combines five specialist trade associations under one umbrella group. Federation members are pet industry specialists and include groomers, pet boarders, pet retailers and manufacturers. We are the only organisation to represent all the different sectors of the pet industry: together our voice is stronger.
We offer industry-led qualifications and training in dog grooming, pet retail and kennel & cattery management and organise pet trade events. Membership of the Federation offers a hallmark of quality: all our members agree to abide by sector specific charters to demonstrate good practice. The Federation also has a charitable arm, the Pet Care Trust, whose aim is to promote the joy and benefits of pet ownership.
- Pet Product Retail Association
The PPRA is a division of the British Independent Retailers Association (bira), which means our members are part of a strong and proactive community of retailers. Members benefit from receiving their own magazine called Pet Product Focus, and once a year we reward the best in our sector at the PATS show in Harrogate. We also work with commercial partners to ensure our members receive tailored and exclusive insurance deals.
- GB non-native Species Secretariat
The Non-native Species Secretariat has responsibility for helping to coordinate the approach to invasive non-native species in Great Britain. We are responsible to a Programme Board which represents the relevant governments and agencies of England, Scotland and Wales.
- ProPets
ProPets was formed by key pet membership organisations to provide a strong united voice to promote responsible pet ownership. Our member organisations:
• Promote the responsible sale and care of pets
• Provide guidelines to the public on how to identify a good pet shop
• Highlight the pet industry as a source of free expert practical advice on the care and welfare of pet animals-especially to local authority officers involved in pet shop licensing
• Promote positive attitudes to pet keeping, pet keepers and the pet industry by providing high quality information to politicians and opinion formers on the key role these activities play in the social, cultural and economic fabric of this country
• Facilitate co-operation between all like minded groups within pet keeping

- Horticultural Trades Association
The Horticultural Trades Association (HTA) is the trade association for the UK garden industry. It is dedicated to helping develop the industry and its member businesses, including most garden centres and other garden retailers, growers, landscapers, manufacturers and suppliers.
- National Office of Animal Health Ltd
The National Office of Animal Health (NOAH) represents the UK animal medicines industry: its aim is to promote the benefits of safe, effective, quality medicines for the health and welfare of all animals.
- OATA
We provide essential business information including EU and world marketing data - members of OATA are able to access the most up to date information via the members only area.OATA members guarantee quality and service. These members exercise a very high standard of livestock husbandry, abide by our Code of Conduct and have our seal of approval. The aquaria and other displays will be clean and disease free. All fish acquired from an approved member will be healthy and feeding.
- The Pet Charity
The Pet Charity (formerly the Pet Care Trust) is the charitable arm of the Pet Industry Federation and will be its public facing voice, encouraging pet ownership, promoting the joy and benefit of pets and collaborating with other stakeholders.
The Pet Charity aims to commission research projects that demonstrate the positive impact of pets, in order to promote pet ownership and increase the number of pet households and pets in the UK today. This research will help develop the charity’s lobbying and campaign and campaign strategies as it seeks to run campaigns to see more pets in schools, care homes and as part of tenancy agreements.
The work of The Pet Charity will be combined with a media strategy which will position it as the ‘go to’ charity for positive pet stories, and will be supported by a media desk and strong social network input.
