Despite the lighter afternoons – in mid-winter it’s dark here by 4pm but now as I write it’s still light at 5.15pm – we are still not seeing many customers before 11am and very few after 4pm. That’s nine months we’ve been open on restricted hours and it sort of becomes the new normal. Not only are our customers used to it but so are we and the extra leisure hours are quite welcome. It’s going to be difficult when we have to go back to full-time opening hours in a few months’ time.
