When we sell any pet we always strongly advise the new owner to leave the pet alone for the first day or so, so it can settle in. We also advise to reduce stress on the new pet as much as possible until you are both used to one another. A customer had bought a guinea pig on the Friday and phoned on the following Monday demanding to return it as it was too scared. I questioned the customer as to why the pet was scared and she said it was OK until they introduced it to the dog!
