It’s licence time again and we had the unannounced visit by an environmental health officer and a vet. It was a different vet this year so I did not get the opportunity to carry on our discussion about pelleted food versus muesli food for rabbits and guinea pigs. For the last two years, the nice vet had told me that feeding muesli food to rabbits was all wrong and I should set an example to my customers and feed only pelleted food. For some unknown reason, instead of just agreeing and then ignoring her, a little voice in my head told me to argue the point, not a sensible idea. Still, this year new vet and new environmental health officer asked some different questions and I am glad to say I passed with flying colours. The whole inspection lasted about 10 minutes and set me back £140.
