A new ornamental aquatics conference and workshop is to take place in Singapore.
A spokesman said: “AquaRealm is Singapore’s brand new event for the international ornamental aquatic industry. Packed with interesting, informative and innovative features, the programme is well on its way towards being finalised.”
To be held on June 15-18, 2017, the event will include an international conference ‘to present the latest developments affecting the industry, from the newest technologies to food science, to captive-breeding breakthroughs, to water chemistry/quality, to conservation, to the understanding and application of genetics in ornamental fish aquaculture, to the sterling work being carried out by public aquaria’ as well as a full-day fish health workshop.
The spokesman added: “Both the conference and workshop will be held in Temasek Polytechnic’s excellent purpose-built facilities consisting of two auditoria fully equipped with the latest audio-visual equipment, plus the centre’s own laboratories.
“A modest-sized trade show consisting of specialist exhibitors will be based in the spacious foyer area of the venue.”
Organisers are also looking to include a fish competition and arrangements are being made for visits to ‘some of Singapore’s leading fish farms, as well as to the impressive South East Asia Aquarium in Sentosa’.
Singapore used to host the four-day international trade and consumer Aquarama event, which was launched in 1989. Aquarama now takes place in Guangzhou, China.
