The UK pet trade will be given unprecedented access to the Scottish marketplace when Scotland’s first dedicated trade and consumer pet show opens its doors in Edinburgh at the end of August next year.

Event organisers believe Scotland is ideally placed to host a specialist event and are now pushing ahead with plans to create the inaugural Scottish Pet Show.

In addition to a series of talks, seminars and workshops plus stands representing all areas of the pet industry, the event will also provide a number of private rooms to enable exhibitors to conduct business meetings away from the hustle and bustle of the main event hall.

Scott Thorburn, from event organiser Pet Show Scotland, said: “Scotland and the north of England have thriving pet industries but we understand that it can be difficult for those in the trade to access the multiple shops and organisations operating across these areas.

“With this in mind our aim is to bring everyone together in one place and create a quality annual event that provides the pet trade with a solution to a geographically-challenging, but valuable, northern market.

“The Scottish Pet Show may be a year off but plans are already well advanced, with a number of potential partners and exhibitors looking to get involved.”

The event will be held in the 8,526 sq metre Highland Hall at the Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston, from August 31-September 2, 2018.
