Offshore oil platforms boost jellyfish numbers

Jellymageddon is upon us – and we might be partly responsible, says a report in the New Scientist.

Vast blooms of moon jellyfish and other related species are being reported, and new research suggests that offshore constructions (including oil and gas platforms and wind farms) may be aiding these gelatinous invasions by providing ideal conditions to thrive.
