Here comes the bride!
16th May 2018

By Sandra Pearce
A group of homeless pets at the Blue Cross have formed a choir to sing ‘Here comes the bride’ for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding this Saturday (May 19).

Director of rehoming Mandy Jones told the Metro: “The melodic mammals have named themselves the Blue Cross Pet Choir and they’ve formed in celebration of Meghan’s love for rescue pets, and the support she’s given animal charities. The future Duchess of Sussex brought her adopted beagle, Guy over to the UK with her, when she said, ‘I do’ to everyone’s favourite prince.”

The track is also hoping to raise awareness about beagles as there’s expected to be a surge in popularity for the little pooches, thanks to their new Royal status.

However, Blue Cross wants to remind potential owners that beagles are particularly hard work, what with their stubborness, difficulty to train and need for constant exercise.

The stars in the video include a beagle pup named Marley, an ‘enthusiastic’ jack russell terrier called Squirrel, a Shetland pony named Tristan, and four domestic short-haired kittens called Julian, Jill, Janet and Joyce, as well as their mum, Jessica.

Mandy added: “To say congratulations to the royal couple on their wedding day, our homeless pets have given something special, they’ve given a gift of song with this rendition of Here Comes the Bride.

“Each pet seen and heard is desperately looking for their new family and we hope this loving wedding season will help them sing their way into loving new homes.”
