Fish-house re-opens after fire

A pet and aquatics shop in Southampton has officially re-opened its fish house following a fire last September that caused its closure.

TV presenter and naturalist Chris Packham opened the fish-house at Creature Comforts & Aquatic Centre. The event was marked with discounts across the store, a raffle and free samples and goody bags.

A number of trade specialists were also in store to offer advice on the set-up and running of aquariums and the general care of aquatic animals.

Fire crews were called to the Creature Comforts shop, in Totton, after fire broke out in the fish-house last year, causing extensive damage.

All of the shop's livestock, which included thousands of fish, small animals and reptiles, survived the fire.
