Cotswold Raw has closed its crowdfunding campaign just days before the February 22 deadline after securing external investment to fund the next stage of its development.

The pet food business said it had two firm corporate leads that would take ‘a number of months to fully develop’.

Director Mark Lewis said: “We have been extremely pleased with the response to our crowdfunding campaign. Not only have we had pledges for £175,000 from over 160 individuals, we have also signed up many new customers to a healthy raw fed diet.

“Given the external investment secured, we have closed the crowdfunding campaign.

“This gives us the immediate ability to increase our production capacity at our 7,500sqft DEFRA-approved production site and make improvements to our packaging and distribution requirements.”

The raw pet food manufacturer had sought to raise £275k on Crowdcube to expand its product range and develop both its distribution and production infrastructure.
