Specialist wholesaler Peregrine has suspended livefood deliveries due to the weather. Dry goods and frozen orders are not currently affected.
“Regrettably, we have made the decision not to despatch any livefood orders today,” a spokesman said. “Following yesterday, the cold weather and snow across the country has not eased which is making delivery schedules impossible to predict and the high chance of livefood suffering during transit.”
Essex-based Peregrine asks that, due to the extreme conditions, retailers should ensure they place their orders as early as possible today it cannot guarantee next-day delivery on orders coming in after 2pm today.
“We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused and will be sure to keep you up to date of changes over the next couple of days,” the spokesman said.
