A total of 1,643 visitors attended the AQUA 2017 trade show at Telford International Centre, and were greeted by more than 100 exhibitors – the highest number of exhibitors ever.

Organisers say this is clear evidence that AQUA 2017 has been a huge success for everyone concerned. Annie Foord said: “I am delighted with the enthusiasm shown by exhibitors and visitors to our biennial event. The high number of visitors proves that the format of AQUA is continuing to deliver the audience our exhibitors have come to expect from the largest show of its kind in the UK.”

Jeremy Gay, of Evolution Aqua, said: “It’s amazing, this show keeps getting better. It attracts a high calibre of visitor and we love exhibiting at the exhibition. We won a New Product Award so this year’s event has been extra special.”

Jeff Wheeler, of Beaver Plants, was equally enthusiastic about the outcome of the event. “For us it has been a very successful two days capped off by winning a New Product Award. This industry is full of innovation and it needs an event like this to showcase everything that is being launched. It has been the best AQUA yet.”

INTERNATIONAL

International companies have also given the show the thumbs-up. Elgar Veldhuis, of Velda, said: “I think this show is fantastic. The quality of the visitors to our stand has been of such a high standard. It’s an essential show for us as we continue to grow our business in the UK.”

Another international company exhibiting were first-timers CeramicNature, whose owner Timo Bijnsdorp said: “We didn’t know what to expect when we arrived but everything has been brilliant. We’re really impressed with the amount of interest shown in our products, as well as the organisation of the event. Everyone has been so friendly, and there has always been someone available to provide assistance when we’ve needed it.”

Satisfaction among visitors was equally high. Michael Liggins, of Creation Aquatics in Essex, said: “I’ve been waiting two years for this show and it has been well worth the wait. It’s a fantastic event with lots of new products to see and an ideal opportunity to meet our suppliers.”

Scott Martin, of Just Finns, Stoke-on-Trent, said: “I make sure that I allocate two full days to visiting AQUA because it’s perfect for seeing the latest launches in one place. This year there is a good range of top-quality products on show.”

FIRST TIME

It was a first-time visit to AQUA for Darren Rowley, of Kettering Aquatics in Northamptonshire, who said: “Quite a few people have recommended that I attend so I thought I’d give it a try this year. I’m so pleased I did because I have seen so much new kit.”

One of the main talking points was the AQUA dinner attended by 700 guests after day one of the show.

Jo Bladon, who organised the dinner, said: “It was a great evening with an amazing number of exhibitors and visitors enjoying themselves,” a comment echoed by one guest who remarked: “Wow, what a fantastic event. I’m astounded that so many people from the industry were able to attend.”

The final word goes to Annie, who thanked everyone for making it such a memorable event, adding: “We look forward to welcoming everyone back to Telford in two years’ time.”
