Controversy continues to dog Crufts
DFS Crufts opened this morning, and over the next four days will play host to nearly 28,000 dogs and over 150,000 human visitors.
However, the producer of the controversial BBC documentary Pedigree Dogs Exposed, which looked at health issues in pedigree dogs, today accused the Kennel Club of failing to take sufficient action. The controversy prompted the Kennel Club, which runs Crufts, and the Dogs Trust to jointly fund an independent inquiry which made a number of recommendations to tackle inbreeding in pedigrees, puppy farming and other welfare issues.
