The Business
Billy + Margot has recently experienced significant change, having been acquired by Real Pet Food Company, Australia which is the largest manufacturer of chilled/fresh pet food globally.

We have exciting plans for growth in the UK/EU and are now looking for an exceptional and entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to join our team and lead the in-market strategy and execution.

Requirements of the role:
• Ability to develop and execute relevant sales strategies
• Strong Solutions and consultative sales experience/highly skilled at strategic selling
• Experience within FMCG/pet industry would be ideal
• Self-motivation with a strong drive and desire to achieve and to generate new business
• Proven ability to identify, negotiate and close large sales as well as proven success in opening up new markets
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Commercially minded with an eye for understanding customers’ current and future needs
• Proven ability to close business within short sales cycle
• Residence in UK with a strong understanding of the local culture and business norms
• Superior quantitative skills combined with strong financial and marketing planning capabilities
• Comprehensive understanding of the current trends
• Team player with an entrepreneurial start-up attitude, hands-on mentality, high motivation and willingness to learn
• Strong leadership skills and ability to guide a team
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Willingness to travel (nationally and internationally up to 25%)

 Duties of the role include:
• Leadership of our small but growing UK team consisting of up to 4 professionals
• Ensuring that targets are achieved
• Providing strategic account management to key customer accounts (individual or groups of customers)
• Define the growth strategy for our UK/EU region
• Strategic management and P&L responsibility for our dedicated market
• Measuring and analysing of all relevant actions, forecasting needs and goals essential to building our acquisition and conversion strategy
• Development and execution of account strategies
• Drive internal channel collaboration to build valuable client solutions
• Development and maintenance of high, wide and deep relationships with the key accounts

The person:
• The right person for this role will have a strong background within FMCG/food products, ideally having 5 years + in a Business Development/National Account Manager role or similar
• Experience in the pet category would be highly desirable
• Entrepreneurial and able to manage a business across the value chain, with the focus being on scalable and profitable growth
• You will have a desire to succeed in everything that you do, whilst maintaining long-lasting relationships at all levels. You will have an understanding of how to build Joint Business Plans and ensure that products are positioned correctly to gain the maximum traction
