A customer was very upset that on a recent visit to his vet, he was charged £13.99 for a tube of toothpaste. ‘You should stock toothpaste,’ he said. ‘Like the toothpaste on the shelf at £3.99,’ I answered. The next comment from my customer is not repeatable, but you get the idea. While on the subject of vets’ prices, I recently bought a spray for my dog’s skin from our vet and he charged me £56. The identical product from a reputable website is just over £20. Even with the vet charging a prescription fee, the price difference just doesn’t make sense.
